Think About This
Humans don’t and can’t understand everything. Stuff gets weird. Stuff gets confusing. But God always understands what is happening. He is always good, and always powerful, never powerless. Stuff gets wild. Stuff gets chaotic. But Jesus always fights for us and He overcomes. Stuff gets frustrating, disappointing, and scary. But the Holy Spirit always gets in the middle of things with and for us, and is always with us.
Drive Time
• Share a time with your student when you were unsure about what the future held. Tell them how you felt at the time, and how to feel about that situation now.
• RJ said Revelation isn’t meant to scare us, but to give us hope. Have you ever heard scary things about the end of the world, and how does knowing Jesus wins change that?
• Revelation uses wild symbols like dragons and beasts as ‘codes’ for real-world battles between good and evil. Why do you think stories use imagery like that instead of just stating facts plain and simple?
• Instead of floating in clouds, the ending of Revelation describes a restored, perfect new Earth where everything broken is made right. What is something broken in the world today that you’re most excited to see fixed?
