Every lesson consists of 8 sections.
Here is a little info on each of the sections that you will be making your way through.
- Parent’s Prayer:
This is a chance for the parent to pray with his/her student. We have supplied a guided prayer, but we encourage you to create your own if you feel up to it. These prayers should invite God to work through your time together.
- The Opening:
For this section you will need that CD Player. We will inform you about which disc and track you will be listening to. You will want to find your pause button, because when the track ends you will need to pause it before the next track starts. Just press play and listen to what the people on the CD are saying.
- Scripture Search:
For this section you will want to have your Bible and the Blue Book available (Luther’s Small Catechism). We will give you a section of scripture to read through. This is a great opportunity to get into the Bible and we encourage students to do the reading.
- The Teaching:
This is the simplest section of them all. You will either listen to the CD or read the print in the book. This is the basic “teaching” on that week’s theme.
- Question Time:
This is your opportunity to talk together about your lesson. We list a set of questions, and encourage you to work your way through them. Be open and honest with each other.
- Wrap Up:
Play that CD again and listen to our closing words.
- Student’s Prayer:
This is a chance for student’s to pray. There is a guided prayer available, but we encourage you to create your own.
- Digging Deeper:
This section has a student “digging deeper” suggestion and also a parent suggestion to take this lesson farther with their student. These are great ways to learn more about the lesson together.
