Faith Specifics:

Student Expectations:

• Each student will be expected to:
  1. Attend Large Group Class meetings held once a month
  2. Pass 5 tests covering the lessons
  3. Attend one/all of the following at lest 3 times per month:
     • Worship Service
     • Ground Floor (Sundays @ 11am)
     • 2nd Floor (Wednesdays @ 7pm)
  4. 10 hours of volunteer service inside the church
  5. Attend the 7th Grade Communion Retreat (more info below)

Parent Expectations:

• Each parent will be expected to:
  1. Actively be involved in the lessons each week with their student
  2. To teach correct doctrine according to the information supplied to them
  3. Attend church regularly with student
  4. Pray for their student

Classroom Meetings:

Throughout the year there will be 7 classroom meetings from 6:00pm – 8:00pm for students to attend. At these classes all tests will be administered. We will also have an activity time. Activity times will be done in groups to help students get to know each other and develop community amongst everyone.

Church Attendance:

It is our expectation that your student attend one/all of the following at least 3 times per month. Their first option is to attend worship on Saturday night or Sunday mornings. Attendance will be tracked at these services by filling out the white card in the bible rack each week. Option two is to attend the Ground Floor (a middle school only program) which meets on Sundays @ 11am. Option three is to attend the 2nd Floor (also a middle school only program) which meets at 7pm on Wednesday evenings. Attendance will be tracked via our check-in system in the Youth Room.

Volunteer Service:

Part of Christian life is about service. As a new addition to our confirmation program we are asking that each year your student complete 10 hours of volunteer service inside of Faith while in grade 6 and 7. Inside of the curriculum packets your student will find volunteer forms to be filled out and signed by a staff member at Faith after completion of service. There are many different opportunities to serve in our church. Below are a few possibilities along with the contact person and their phone extension here at Faith. Call (248) 689-4664 and ask for one of these people.

7th Grade Communion Retreat:

Students enrolled in Confirmation during 7th grade will be required to attend the Confirmation Retreat. During this great weekend at Camp Michawana students will learn about Communion in preparation for their First Communion a few weeks later. Parents are welcome to come along as drivers but will be asked to pay the same cost as students.
