Welcome

Is there someone from a different ethnic background living in your neighborhood? Welcome to Metro Detroit! We definitely live in a multicultural community, yet at times the church may appear uncaring in the eyes of those from other ethnicities.

This ministry exists so that we can do everything possible to let the 30% ethnic population in Faith’s neighborhood know that they are welcome at Faith.

P.O.B.L.O. (People Of The Book Lutheran Outreach) is the largest mission agency of the Lutheran Church and the official Lutheran agency for outreach.

Faith’s Ethnic Ministry directly coordinates with P.O.B.L.O. and Cynthia Khan, staff director of Ethnic Ministry.

Why have different ethnic churches and ministries at Faith?
Being culturally relevant is one of the core values for the people of Faith Lutheran. The city of Troy is the second most ethnically diverse city in the state of Michigan. All Nations Lutheran Church, Faith Tamil Church, and other ethnic ministries offer unique opportunities for those who do not yet understand English to experience Biblical teaching and friendship in their native language.

Ethnic churches and ministries bring individuals on to Faith’s campus that normally would not come. These ministries prove to the community that all people really are welcome to become part of Faith’s family. Through an ongoing partnership with Faith’s other ministries, (especially Children and Student ministries), the ultimate goal is for individuals in the various ethnic ministries to naturally become part of Faith’s worshipping community.
